Textured finishes are decorative wall treatments that add depth, movement, and character to a surface. This can include limewash effects, subtle plaster textures, soft tonal layering, or hand-applied finishes designed to create a natural, lived-in look rather than a flat painted wall.
-
Yes. Textured finishes work well in homes, retail spaces, restaurants, offices, hotels, and developments. The finish can be tailored to suit the environment, from soft and understated for living spaces to more expressive or architectural for commercial interiors.
-
Most finishes can be applied to plastered walls, previously painted walls, and some prepared masonry surfaces. During an initial assessment, we check surface condition, repairs, and preparation requirements to ensure the best result.
-
Yes. We offer sample applications directly onto your wall so you can see how texture and tone respond to your light, scale, and surroundings. This helps clients make confident decisions before proceeding with a full application.
-
When applied correctly and cared for, textured finishes are long-lasting and durable. Lime-based and mineral finishes are particularly resilient and age beautifully over time rather than showing wear in the way flat paint often does.
-
Maintenance is minimal. Most finishes can be lightly dusted or gently wiped. We provide aftercare guidance specific to the finish applied, including what to avoid and how to handle marks or touch-ups if required.
-
Every finish is unique. Textured work is hand-applied, meaning no two walls are ever identical. Tone, movement, and depth are influenced by technique, surface condition, and light, which is part of the appeal.
-
Pricing depends on the size of the area, surface condition, complexity of the finish, and number of walls or rooms. As this is a specialist, time-intensive craft, it is priced differently from standard painting. We provide clear quotes following an assessment or sample visit.
-
Timeframes vary depending on scale and finish type. A single feature wall may take one to two days, while multiple rooms or larger spaces will take longer. We outline timelines clearly before starting work.
-
Absolutely. Textured finishes pair particularly well with modern, minimalist, and architectural spaces, adding warmth and tactility without clutter. They also complement natural materials such as wood, stone, and metal.

How much does it cost?
To estimate we can either work with you over the phone and email or schedule a home visit. There are a few variables to consider that effect cost such as:
Size of space
Preparation time and condition of walls
(the amount of filler and priming/ furniture to move etc.)Price of Limewash per tin (colours vary in cost. See our supplier list below and take your pick)
Quantity of coats (More required to achieve greater depth and a more dramatic finish)
Timings (Our availability, weekdays/weekends, quicker turn-around), etc.
It’s important to know that Limewashing is an art, not a decorators job. So our team are made up of artists and have years of experience, skilled in working with mixing colours and layering to achieve texture. Our textured artists have a background in interior design and can advise what colours and quantity best suits your space.
